Good condition

Bengt Olson, born June 22, 1930 in Kristinehamn,[1] is a Swedish painter, printmaker and sculptor who has lived and worked in Paris for most of his life. He is married to Christiane Fulconis, whom he met in Paris when he moved there and began his major work in the city.

Son of Allan Olson and Elin Maria Johnsson. Bengt Olson grew up in Kristinehamn with parents interested in art and began to earn a living from painting from the age of 15. He studied at the Valand School of Art in Gothenburg from 1948 to 1952 under Endre Nemes, among others. After graduating, he traveled to France for further training with Fernand Léger in 1953.

Bengt masters all materials and techniques such as oil, pastel, watercolor, sandblasting and glazing. We see everything from paintings to enormous sculptures and a passionate interest in architecture where the city and nature should interact with art.

He moved to France in 1960. In the fall of 1964, he came into contact with Carl Nesjar in France, who worked with Pablo Picasso's sculptures, and they got Picasso's permission in 1964 to scale up a maquette in his sculpture series Les dames de Mougins to place on the shore of Lake Vänern at Vålöviken seven kilometers outside Kristinehamn. It became the 15 meter high Jaqueline in sandblasted concrete, the largest Picasso sculpture in the world[2].

Bengt has since worked with the sandblasted concrete technique himself in Paris. He also used advanced tile glazing.
